It's possible that Shana Madoff, Bernard's niece and a "compliance attorney" at the Madoff investment firm, took clothes more seriously than compliance. See post dated December 17, 2008.
A 2004 story about her in New York Magazine reveals Shana to be a Park Avenue girl who may have been easily distracted by her love of labels:
"Last summer, while sitting on Georgica Beach, she was thumbing through Harper’s Bazaar when she stumbled across a tweed Prada bag she knew would go perfectly with her Rodriguez basics. She left her friends and walked down the beach saying she had “to make an important phone call.” She ordered the bag on her cell phone." Read the full article here.
Shana inspires. Who was it who said young people should have to wait around for the important things in life? Having not shopped for Prada bags of late, I strolled though Neiman Marcus on-line. I nearly squealed when I found a particularly sensible red Vitello Daino Pocket Tote that I was partial to for only $1,550. Pick out your favorite Prada bag here.
My favorite was a mere $1,295.
I'm making a cell phone call right now.
